Background
A prominent medical device manufacturer was grappling with the challenge of enhancing their devices for the injection of lyophilised drugs.
Existing solutions in the market were deemed sub-optimal, and there was a pressing need to improve user experience, particularly at the mixing stage.
The manufacturer wanted to understand these issues alongside future trends such as sustainability and connectivity, to support their future product development process.
Approach
Our approach involved conducting comprehensive research to gather actionable insights. We focused on in-depth market analysis, expert interviews, and trend identification to understand the current landscape and unmet needs.
This enabled us to develop insights into key areas such as user experience improvements, needle safety, and understand the impact of future trends like sustainability and connectivity.
We were able to conclude what the most important elements in a lyophilised drug device would be and how to message around these devices.
Outcome
The project identified the hygiene factors of future lyophilised devices, as well as some ‘nice-to-have’ features for consideration.
Recommendations included product refinement as well as suggested messaging approaches.
